Black Lounge Film Series Presents: Felicite

Black Lounge Film Series Presents its 6th Edition of its monthly global film screenings in Historic Overtown with a special presentation of Félicité directed by Alain Gomis on Friday, July 20th at 7pm at the Overtown Performing Arts Center.

Félicité is a proud, free-willed woman working as a singer in a bar in Kinshasa (the capital of The Democratic Republic of Congo). Her life is thrown into turmoil when her 14-year-old son falls victim to a motorcycle accident. To save him, she sets out on a breakneck race through the streets of electric Kinshasa-a world of music and dreams where she’ll cross paths with Tabu, a local maintenance man who fixes Félicité refrigerator and becomes her companion

Black Lounge Film Series program is made possible with the support of the Green Family Foundation, Knight Foundation, The Betsy Hotel, OPAC, Miami‑Dade Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez and the Board of County Commissioners, the Miami‑Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and Cultural Affairs Council and The New Tropic.
